Application for the title of the European Capital of Culture submitted!

The deadline for submission of application in the contest for the title of the European Capital of Culture 2016 expired on 30 August. It was almost noon when representatives of the City of Łódź Office and Łódź Art Center – the operator of the Łódź European Capital of Culture 2016 project – submitted the Łódź application to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Works on the application have been in progress for the last several months

Another summary of work on ŁESK 2016

On 29 July in Łódź Art Center, ‘a press breakfast’ was organised. It was a summary of work related to the application. Agata Etmanowicz, ŁESK 2016 Program Director, and Krzysztof Candrowicz, originator of the project idea, officially closed this stage of creating the application. The document is going to be evaluated by an executive committee comprising heads of departments of the City of Łódź Office, Marshal’s Office, civil servants and city councillors.

Faces of Lodz inhabitants promote Lodz - the European Capital of Culture 2016

Central skyscraper was decorated with a huge banner with 506 photos of Lodz inhabitants. The photos form the logo of Lodz the European Capital of Culture 2016. It’s the finishing touch of the project called ‘Be Lodz’s image – European Capital of Culture 2016’
